Ectopic Pregnancy

Dr. Mangala Patil provides specialized care for women experiencing Ectopic Pregnancies, offering a comprehensive approach to diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, most commonly in a fallopian tube. This condition requires prompt medical intervention to prevent serious health complications. With Dr. Patil’s expertise in Obstetrics & Gynecology, patients receive individualized, compassionate care focused on safety, health, and emotional support during this challenging experience.

What is an Ectopic Pregnancy?

In a typical pregnancy, a fertilized egg travels down the fallopian tube and implants within the uterus. However, in an ectopic pregnancy, the egg implants outside the uterus, usually in one of the fallopian tubes (known as a tubal pregnancy). Less commonly, it can implant in the ovary, cervix, or abdominal cavity. Because these locations are not suited to support a growing pregnancy, an ectopic pregnancy cannot proceed normally and requires immediate medical intervention.
